Letters and Reports

Phase 1

Road Safety Awarenss Notice

This is a friendly awareness notice, not a ticket or legal action. It informs the vehicle owner that a dashcam submission suggests their vehicle may have been involved in a road infraction such as failing to stop, speeding, distracted driving, or another violation.

The letter provides:

  • Incident details (date, time, location – customizable per case).

  • A Google Maps link showing the area where the infraction was observed.

  • Instructions for visiting DashBank.ca to securely view the submitted dashcam video by searching their license plate and incident date.

  • A citation from the Ontario Highway Traffic Act (specific section for the noted infraction).

  • An outline of possible legal consequences if law enforcement observed the offence (fines, demerit points, insurance impacts).

  • A reminder of the importance of safe driving and how such actions can endanger others.

  • A disclaimer clarifying that DashBank.ca is not a law enforcement body and no charges are being issued.

The tone remains respectful and educational, framed as part of DashBank’s community road safety initiative, giving drivers transparency (through video and map access) while encouraging safer habits.

Liability Dispute Letter

The Cover Letter is a professional document that accompanies the Accident Liability Analysis (ALA) Report when it is submitted to an insurance company, law firm, or other stakeholder. Its purpose is to introduce the report, highlight the key issues being addressed, and explain how the analysis supports a fair determination of liability.

It typically outlines the types of evidence considered — such as dashcam footage, police reports, insurance investigation notes, road and weather conditions, and applicable legislation — and emphasizes that the findings are based on an objective, evidence-driven review.

The Cover Letter frames the report as a tool to assist adjusters, legal professionals, or decision-makers in resolving claims accurately, while also ensuring that contributing factors and legal obligations are fully considered. It maintains a professional and respectful tone, reinforcing DashBank’s role as a supporting investigator and partner in road safety accountability.

Accident Liability Analysis

An Accident Liability Analysis (ALA) Report is a structured investigation document that brings together all available evidence from a collision to determine how liability should be assigned. The report reviews police records, insurance investigations, dashcam footage, road and weather conditions, and relevant traffic laws.

It applies the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and the Insurance Act Fault Determination Rules to the circumstances of the incident, analyzing the actions of each driver and any contributing external factors. The findings are then summarized into a clear liability assessment, including whether fault rests with one party, is shared between multiple parties, or involves municipal responsibility (such as unsafe road conditions).

The ALA Report is designed to support insurance claims, legal proceedings, and fair settlements by providing an evidence-driven, unbiased, and legally grounded view of how responsibility for an accident should be determined.
